Reopening Plan 2020-21
Dear Woodward Families,
This year has posed so many challenges since March when we moved to remote learning due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, however, the creativity and commitment of the dedicated staff, the support of parents and guardians and the amazing resilience of every student has enabled us to grow as a school community, despite the many challenges
Please review the tentative reopening plan. As you may know, Governor Cuomo will make the decision regarding the reopening of schools.
The health and safety of our students and staff is the guiding principle for decision making as we developed this plan. As discussed, we plan to offer three platforms, remote learning, in person instruction or a hybrid which is a combination of remote and in person instruction. If you have not yet completed the reopening survey, please do so as soon as possible.
Please note the following:
If you choose a hybrid learning platform, your child will be assigned 2-3 days to attend in person. If you have a preference on the days or the number of days of in person instruction, please indicate that on the survey. If no preference is selected by August 14th, the days will be assigned.
If you choose a remote platform, all classes are live and attendance will be taken. We will send an additional survey to make changes from remote to in person instruction in December. If you wish to change from remote to in person instruction prior to the December survey being released, a written request must be made and changes will be based on scheduling and space availability.
All choices must be submitted by August 14th. If no selection is made, your child will continue with a fully remote platform until a written request for change is made and space and scheduling is available.
If after reading the plan, please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions. Thank you for entrusting your child to our care.
Sincerely,
Danielle Colucci, Principal
